Laredo, TX (Webb County) – The Webb County Sheriff’s Office warrants division continued this past weekend with roundups throughout Webb County. The most recent round-up yielded 8 arrests.
The focus of Operation GOTCHA, which started in January 2017, was designed to apprehend criminals in Webb County who have been evading authorities. The criminal offenses ranged from felony theft, burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance, failure to pay child support, along with other charges. To date, 167 warrants have been executed as part of this operation by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office.
The Webb County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division led the operation and was assisted by the Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT Team).
“I want to congratulate our deputies for a job well done. Our main priority is to protect and serve our community, and that’s what Operation GOTCHA is all about. We are bringing justice to the victims of these crimes,” said Sheriff Martin Cuellar.
