LAREDO, Texas – Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Freer Border Patrol Station disrupt a multiple human smuggling attempt involving two vehicles travelling on Highway 59.
On September 8, agents working at the Border Patrol checkpoint located on Highway 59 observed two suspicious vehicles travelling in tandem on Highway 59 believed to be involved in a human smuggling attempt. Agents followed the vehicles, a Dodge Durango and a Ford F-150 and attempted to perform a vehicle stop. Subsequently, both vehicles abruptly pulled over to the side of the road and the agents observed multiple subjects exited the vehicles and run towards the nearby brush. Agents chased the subjects in the brush and successfully apprehended nine illegal aliens.
The illegal aliens were determined to be from the countries of Mexico, Nicaragua and Honduras.
All of the individuals were processed accordingly and the vehicles used in these smuggling attempts were seized by the United States Border Patrol.
